Ireland elects first black mayor

Nigerian man who arrived in Ireland as an asylum seeker seven years ago has become the country's first black mayor.

Rotimi Adebari has been elected as first citizen of Portlaoise in County Laois. The 43-year-old fled from Nigeria in 2000 because of religious persecution. After a few weeks, he and his family settled in the County Laois town.

Per 25 anni la Cia (Central Intelligence Agency) ha violato il proprio statuto con intercettazioni non autorizzate, spionaggio di abitazioni, assassinii e addirittura sperimentazioni sull'uomo; lo rivelano documenti declassificati, pubblicati sul sito web
National security archive dell'Università George Washington.

La Cia ha in particolare declassificato e reso accessibili 693 pagine che documentano attività di intelligence relative agli anni Cinquanta. Tra i controllati ci sono giornalisti e ricercatori. I documenti sarebbero stati classificati su richiesta James Schlesinger, direttore dell'agenzia di spionaggio negli anni 70.
A tutt'oggi solo pochi dei documenti classificati come top secret erano stati resi accessibili al pubblico.
