TBILISI, September 26 (Itar-Tass) -- Georgia has accused South Ossetia of an attack on its villages of Ergneti and Nikozi near Tskhinvali on Wednesday.
Officials from the administrations of these villages told journalists that South Ossetian troops had opened fire from Tskhinvali at 20:30 Moscow time (1630 GMT), targeting Ergneti and Nikozi from automatic and large-calibre arms.
No casualties have been reported so far, but “the Georgian side had to return the fire”.
Georgia reported the incident to the CIS Collective Peacekeeping Force in the conflict zone.
